With time to kill and a new city to explore, organizations traveling as a group have the opportunity to mix business with leisure while visiting Concord. Cruise the streets for local eats and drinks or lace up your walking shoes and enjoy the California sunshine on Mount Diablo. After the sun sets, try a different kind of hike along Concord’s Beer Trail or catch one of the many live music shows happening in town.

EAT

Concord is home to over 40 restaurants offering tastes from around the world that give groups of all sizes the opportunity to find something pleasing for any palate.

A fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisines, La Sen Bistro prepares fresh, colorful meals with bold flavors. Their chefs use traditions from French-Vietnamese culture combined with new methods and local ingredients to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Reservations for larger groups are encouraged and can be made online or by phone.

Concord’s favorite Peruvian restaurant, Lima offers exotic cocktails and unconventional cuisine. Every dish is made from scratch by award-winning Chef John Marquez and crafted using traditional Peruvian customs. Reservations are available and walk-ins are welcome.

STIX Eatery is the new kid on the block in Concord. Serving up deliciously spicy Thai fare, STIX is open daily and offers a variety of dishes — everything from rice bowls and grilled skewers to noodle dishes and fresh salads. Groups can choose to order individually or taste it all by sharing family-style.

Local favorites include: Tortilleria El Molino, a good spot for grab-and-go Mexican cuisine; Poke Salad, where you can build your own perfect lunch with fresh fish and other fixings; and The Mediterranean, which offers dine-in, pick-up and takeout dishes with a Mediterranean flair. A true taste of Concord can be found at Patty’s Original Cheese Zombies. The renowned, cheesy pastry is a must-try.

DRINK

For the beer-lovers in the group, exploring the Concord Beer Trail is a great way to see downtown Concord and enjoy some local suds. The trail begins at The Hop Grenade, where guests can enjoy 21 rotating taps, small bites and an outdoor patio. From here, take a short walk down Salvio Street to EJ Phair Brewing Company, where guests can take their pick from dozens of drafts as well as bottled craft beer. Next, take an Uber or Lyft to Black Diamond Brewing Company for a cold beer and tour of the brewery. The trail concludes a short 15-minute walk away at Epidemic Ales, where can top off the night with a taster flight of tasty brews.
